This coffee is from the beautiful, mountainous, and special Inzá municipality in southwestern Colombia. This particular lot is a blend of coffees from five farms located in close proximity to the Río Páez. The area has soaring growing altitudes with altitudes of contributing farms ranging from 1400-2000+ meters above sea level. Most farms in the area are planted heavily in Caturra and Timor hybrids like Variedad Colombia and Tabi, with also smaller amounts of Bourbon and Typica planted.
Contributing farms process their own coffee in the region traditional washed process style of processing. Many farms in the region use old hand cranked style pulpers. It is also common practice for farmers to ferment and wash coffees in the same tank. Coffee in this area takes about 2 weeks to dry and covered drying beds is a must due to frequent rains.
