This lot comes Doña Maria Rosa and her farm, Los Nogales, near the town of San Antonio in Colombia's Tolima department. The area is in the Colombian Andes. The farm is tucked away in the hillside above the store her family operates. It is not reachable by car or motorcycle. It takes about an hour to hike up the trail leading to Los Nogales. During harvest season, Doña Rosa makes this trek daily at 5am to organize labor for the day's picking and checking on coffee processed the previous day.
The farm sits at about 2000 meters above sea level. It is planted in Caturra, Tabi, and Typica cultivars. Located on the ridge of a valley, carbonero trees tower from the valley floor while banana and balsa trees provide shade for the coffee plants.
